Organization
Bank of America is one of the nation's largest financial services companies and the 3rd largest commercial bank in the United States. Bank of America employs almost 200,000 employees in offices across the country and the world.
Challenge
Bank of America began construction of their $1 Billion dollar office tower in 2004 with the goal of consolidating their New York City operations. The building features many environmentally friendly features such as greywater filtration systems and phase transition cooling systems. The Project Team faced many challenges such as working with an aggressive timeline, deliveries to a building in the heart of New York City, and installing equipment while rooms were still being constructed.
Project
VCA was awarded contract VID-41498 by Bank of America to build and install all the A/V communication systems for their new building. The contract includes builds for their Broadcast TV Studio, Press/Podium video capture areas, an Auditorium linked with the entire building, and numerous conference and meeting spaces. VCA relied upon its staff of experienced engineers, project managers, and installers to come together and produce A/V solutions based on Bank of America's needs for a strong communication environment. Taking the designs from consultant CMS, VCA engineered the shop diagrams used to build over multiple A/V-enabled rooms at the Bank of America Tower. VCA was tasked with fabricating and installing presentation rooms, meeting rooms, teleconference rooms, multi-purpose divisible rooms, and a complete broadcast video studio and distribution network for the entire building.
Results
Company-wide communications have increased with employees able to quickly and easily communicate with offices all over the country and the world. The conference rooms and meeting spaces adequately serve the needs of Bank of America's staff for their daily communication needs while the Broadcast TV Studio enables Bank of America to produce content for communicating their value and services to their customers. The integrated Auditorium and Press/Podium cameras also enable Bank of America to make meetings and presentations available to the entire building, keeping their staff apprised of the latest news for the company. VCA's work at the Bank of America Tower has opened the door to new A/V integration opportunities for the Bank's other corporate locations.
