The Problem: After the success of their film "ICE AGE" Blue Sky Studios wanted to upgrade and improve their video facility. Their prior vendor had not understood their business needs in depth and they were also looking for a company that could provide a higher level of technical support for both their AVID systems as well as for their complete video engineering needs.
The Solution: Blue Sky selected VCA Fusion for its AVID expertise and technical abilities, as well as for superior video engineering. VCA's team understood video inside and out, having a large AVID team of engineers, as well as a video engineering design and integration team; Brett Yeager of VCA also had extensive understanding of 3D animation and film.
VCA made a series of upgrades and installations to Blue Sky's AVID Editing environment, including adding a New AVID Symphony, upgrading their 3 Film Composers, and upgrading and improving their AVID UNITY network along with increasing their shared fiber channel storage on their unity system.
In addition, VCA designed and engineered a custom comprehensive facility design for all of their AVID editing rooms including video and audio signal flow, rack design, as well as additional video and audio gear, projectors and screens for video screenings, complete re-wiring and installation.
Blue Sky is looking to VCA Fusion in the near future for numerous additional video systems, as well as 3D animation software and other special projects . VCA Fusion has been able to satisfy the full range of AVID's needs.
